The Adventure Begins

مرحباً (Hello!)

So the time is ticking by until we head off to Heathrow, all packed and ready, and thanking the World Cup for killing the time (well played Italy, but it doesn’t mean we like you!).

I won’t lie, it’s getting close enough to be scary now! And yet, we can’t but be excited about the whole trip.

For those of you that might not know what on earth I’m talking about, I beg your pardon. Allow me to enlighten you.

So, the three of us – Alice, Rebecca and I – have been part of the Arabic Language Elective Pathway for the past two years, since we began as “Freshers” at Sussex, and we all stayed on, through our many great classes, full of films and olives (and handouts and exams, but let’s not dwell), until “Intermediate B” level. And today marks the first day of our three-week trip to Rabat, Morocco, to study Arabic at a (much!) higher level. To be honest, considering thr classes here at uni, I don’t think any of us could resist!

It sounds pretty lofty, and it probably is! But thanks be to Sussex for the opportunity – and we’re so excited to squeeze all of the juice out of it. This blog is a little spot where you can taste a bit of that juice, as it were, and just step into a little of the whole incredible experience we’re about to step out on. (Please pardon the gushy-ness. I’m quite excited.)

Well, I hope you enjoy! If you’ve got any questions or things you want to hear about, stick a comment up 🙂

Thanks for reading!

Hannah
