Alternative places to study on campus

Feb

With the current works in the Library there are times when the building can be noisy and busy, you may be interested some of the other study spaces available around campus, these include:

  • Essex House: Seats on ground floor next to the cafĂ©
  • Meeting House: Quiet Room
  • Fulton: Ground floor general purpose
  • Bramber House: Second floor foyer area (update: We have been informed there are currently drilling works in Bramber House)
  • Silverstone: Ground floor and Level 3
  • BSMS: Foyer area

We’re working hard to get the refurbishment finished as quickly as possible and to try and to try and keep disruption to the minimum.

The refurbishment will bring a long list of improvements including: improved environment (lighting, ventilation, heating), wider aisles, a more logical layout of our collection (Shelfmark A at the top, Z at the bottom), dedicated areas for different kinds of study with quieter study areas towards the back, more computers, large increase in power/network sockets (much of the noise is from the chasing the concrete floors to provide for this), improved wireless and a new Open Learning Space.
