A large number of assessments have been set up as e-submission assessments in 2016\/17, including assessments for final year and postgraduate students .<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sussex.ac.uk\/adqe\/standards\/examsandassessment\/esubmission\">E-Submission and E-Feedback webpage<\/a> has a bank of <em>Frequently Asked Questions<\/em> for students, markers and moderators. These are included on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sussex.ac.uk\/adqe\/standards\/examsandassessment\/assessmentforms\">Forms &#8211; assessment related webpage<\/a> for download.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<h3>External Examiners<\/h3>\n<p>An External Examiner is appointed to each course to oversee the academic standards of the course.<\/p>\n<p>We ask External Examiners to complete a report following the examination board which makes the awards.<\/p>\n<p>We have provided a summary of the positive comments received from the academic year 2015\/16 \u2013 these are provided in the table below:<\/p>\n<table>\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"123\"><strong>Standards<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"807\"><strong>BMEc: <\/strong>Well-regarded academically and in the labour market.<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"123\"><strong>Assessment &amp; marks <\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"807\"><strong>SCLS<\/strong>: Processes do measure student achievement with sufficient rigour and fairness.<\/p>\n<p><strong>LPS: <\/strong>Assessment rigorously and fairly measures student achievement against the learning outcomes specified for modules and the course overall.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"123\"><strong>Performance<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"807\"><strong>English<\/strong>: Impressed by qualities of literacy and analytical ability within dissertation.<\/p>\n<p><strong>MFM<\/strong>: Essays clearly demonstrate not only an understanding of the subject matter, but also an enjoyment of it.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"123\"><strong>Processes<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"807\"><strong>HAHP<\/strong>: Satisfied overall with processes for assessment and examination and that these have been conducted both in accordance with the rules and in the best interests of the students.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td width=\"123\"><strong>Teaching, learning &amp; assessment<\/strong><\/td>\n<td width=\"807\"><strong>Life Science: <\/strong>Good feedback and annotation and the model answers were good.
