This achieved within the year partly because T Lyddon Gardner and H Samuel each make a large individual donation of \u00a3100,000<\/li>\n<li>Many people and organisations donate books for the Library<\/li>\n<li>Fifty-two students are admitted for the first year: 17 men and 35 women, largely from London, the Home Counties and Sussex.
