The Research Information Network (RIN) has commissioned a study intended to explore the role of supervisors in developing research students’ information literacy.

There are two parallel surveys, one for supervisors and one for PhD students. The results and data will be published by RIN later this year.
For supervisors:
This survey investigates the experiences of supervisors with respect to their research students’ (PhD, DPhil, etc) knowledge and skills in information handling. The survey should only take 15-25 minutes to complete.

* you will be shaping recommendations on how support for supervisors and research students can be enhanced

This survey investigates the experiences of research students (PhD, DPhil, etc) with respect to a particular aspect of research: the information handling skills and knowledge required in their subject. The survey should only take 10-15 minutes to complete.

* you will have a chance to reflect on your own knowledge, skills and opportunities for improvement
