{"id":106,"date":"2010-06-23T13:22:20","date_gmt":"2010-06-23T13:22:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sussexelectroniclibrary.wordpress.com\/?p=106"},"modified":"2010-06-23T13:22:20","modified_gmt":"2010-06-23T13:22:20","slug":"historic-digimap-%e2%80%93-new-mapping-and-download-facilities","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sussex.ac.uk\/library\/2010\/06\/historic-digimap-%e2%80%93-new-mapping-and-download-facilities\/","title":{"rendered":"Historic Digimap \u2013 new mapping and download facilities"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two new beta services have recently been launched to benefit users of Historic Digimap:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ancient Roam, an online mapping interface based on the Roam mapping client available from Digimap\u2019s OS Collection<\/li>\n<li>Historic Download, a facility allowing users to select and download larger quantities of historical map data<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Ancient Roam<\/h2>\n<p>Ancient Roam is a new mapping facility within Historic Digimap, based upon the Roam mapping client available from Digimap&#8217;s OS Collection, and includes features such as \u2018slippy maps\u2019, and zooming.<\/p>\n<p>Features specific to Ancient Roam include selecting historical maps from any decade (depending on availability) using a \u2018timeline\u2019, an easier means of identifying and selecting maps in areas where County Series overlap and single-clicking to display the year the map was published along with other information.<\/p>\n<h3>New Town Plan Maps<\/h3>\n<p>The large-scale Town Plans are now available in both Ancient Roam and Historic Download.
