{"id":57,"date":"2010-02-17T15:04:51","date_gmt":"2010-02-17T15:04:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/sussexelectroniclibrary.wordpress.com\/?p=57"},"modified":"2010-02-17T15:04:51","modified_gmt":"2010-02-17T15:04:51","slug":"ieee-xplore-new-interface","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.sussex.ac.uk\/library\/2010\/02\/ieee-xplore-new-interface\/","title":{"rendered":"IEEE Xplore new interface"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>IEEE has now got a new interface.<\/p>\n<p>IEEE Xplore \u00a0includes the full text of IEEE journals, conference proceedings, and standards.<\/p>\n<p>You can see the new interface by going to:<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/ieeexplorepreview.ieee.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/ieeexplorepreview.ieee.org<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Major new features include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\u201ctype-ahead\u201d technology \u2014 a list of search suggestions is made when you type in keywords in the search box (try typing \u201cnetwork\u201d for an example of this).<\/li>\n<li>the same feature is present for journal title and conference title searching (from the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/ieeexplorepreview.ieee.org\/xpl\/periodicals.jsp)\">browse pages<\/a>). You can also now browse journals and conferences by subject.<\/li>\n<li>when you go to a page for an individual conference, the table of contents for the conference is clearly displayed (instead of hidden behind a link as in the old Xplore). Conference title histories are also now linked.<\/li>\n<li>search results can now be easily refined by subject, year, author, affiliation, publication title, type of publication<\/li>\n<li>You can now create your own account to save searches and set up alerts.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Anyone who has set up table of contents alerting in the old Xplore will need to create a new personal account and re-do their alerts; the old alerts will expire when the new interface arrives.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>IEEE has now got a new interface.
