Why hello there,<\/p>\n
This June (4th<\/sup> and 5th<\/sup> of June to be precise) Adam Harwood and I, along with friends Iain and Jo are walking 100K (or 62.14 miles in old money) all in one go, in aid of Oxfam and the Gurkha Foundation.<\/p>\n If you can spare a tiny amount of money to sponsor us we would be incredible honoured and delighted.<\/p>\n We\u2019re going to be part of the TrailTrekker <\/a>event walking a 100K route of the Yorkshire Dales.\u00a0 A route that must be completed within 30 hours or else!\u00a0 Well, or else we will be lovingly ushered quietly, yet firmly, into a van by the Gurkhas who marshal the walk.\u00a0 It would appear plodding for more than 30 hours is deemed potentially hazardous and likely to bring on all manner of hallucinogenic visions, incoherent banter and general weakness of limb and mind.\u00a0 It is to be noted the Gurkhas place a team into this event who complete the course, in a not totally unimpressive, nine and a half to ten hours.<\/p>\n We have entered a team called \u201cSpeckled Jim\u201d in honour of that plump and plucky First World War pigeon, lovingly raised by General Sir Anthony Cecil Hogmanay Melchett.\u00a0 Eaten deliberately, callously and with beastnessly of forethought by the flanders pigeon murderer, Captain Edmund Blackadder.<\/p>\n You can sponsor us online here:<\/p>\n
