‘♪ Getting to know you… ♪’

In a slight change to the usual format, Library pets have hijacked the Q&A for Wellbeing week. Next up, it’s a couple of guest spots from CEC and TEL, Sonya’s Belle, and Sarah’s Scampy.

If you’d like to submit your answers to the Q+A, fill out the template and send it to library.innovation@sussex.ac.uk, or get in touch with the Blog admins – Lizzy, Kate & Sam…

What do you do all day while your owner is at work?

I play with my nephew (Martini) and daughter (Jagerbomb) and chase the cats until the dog walker comes to watch movies and walk us.

How do you support your owner’s wellbeing?

I make her walk! But not too far.

What is your favourite food?

Bananas.

What keeps you awake at night?

I will wake at any little squeak.

How would you spend your paw-fect day?

A beach walk, followed by lunch in the pub or coffee shop.

Scampy the rabbit
Scampy

Tell us about yourself, where you live and with who…

I’m Scampy, I’m a nearly 8-year old Mini-Rex house bunny, living with my Librarian parents Sarah and Tim Ison, and my human sister Robyn (4) and human brother Arlo (1.5).  I was born in Worthing, and have lived with my human parents since I was about 6 weeks old, in Portslade.

What do you do all day while your owner is at work?

I chill out on my rug under the kitchen table when I’m home alone, and enjoy hanging out in the lounge on the sofa when everyone’s home.  I used to nibble the furniture and cables a lot but not so much now I’m getting on a bit.

What is your favourite song?

Bright Eyes – Art Garfunkel

How do you support your owner’s wellbeing?

I come and hop on their lap in the evening for a stroke of my velvety smooth coat, I’m just so soft.  I sometimes do a binky too when I’m happy (a twisty jump in the air) which they always enjoy seeing because they know I’m feeling happy.

What is your favourite food?

Bananas and raspberries for a treat.

What keeps you awake at night?

Mummy walking to and fro between all the bedrooms at night seeing to the small people who wake up a lot.

How would you spend your paw-fect day?

Snuggles on the sofa with Daddy, munching on fresh hay and treats, and time in the garden eating the grass and the flowers.

Who would play you in a film of your life?

Roger Rabbit, he’s a great actor…

A sad postscript: Sarah reports that, sadly, we had to say a final farewell to Scampy just after his 8th birthday. He’ll be hugely missed.
