This includes providing direct support and guidance to our faculties, via bespoke workshops.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We\u2019re also helping to develop guidance and resources on the <a href=\"https:\/\/canvas.sussex.ac.uk\/courses\/37795\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Sussex Academic Framework support site<\/a> on Canvas. We\u2019re also adapting and updating our resources so they better align with the Sussex Academic Framework and the Curriculum Design Principles within.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have any questions regarding this please email your Academic Developer or <a href=\"mailto:A.M.Bolt@sussex.ac.uk\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Amanda Bolt<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>New web guidance<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We have a new guidance page on how to embed <a href=\"https:\/\/staff.sussex.ac.uk\/teaching\/enhancement\/support\/methods\/experiential-learning\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">experiential learning<\/a> into your curriculum.\u00a0\u00a0We\u2019ve also, this week, updated the <a href=\"https:\/\/staff.sussex.ac.uk\/teaching\/enhancement\/support\/curriculum\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Curriculum design step-by-step<\/a> page.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>New on Learning Matters<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.sussex.ac.uk\/learning-matters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Learning Matters<\/a> site has a new look. We\u2019ve a new banner image and the tags have been streamlined the tags to make it easier to search for case studies, in particular those aligned to Sussex curriculum design principles, framework and strategic priorities. If you would like to contribute to Learning Matters there are various ways to do so, please visit our <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.sussex.ac.uk\/learning-matters\/about-learning-matters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">About page<\/a> to find out more.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A new Learning Matters article, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.sussex.ac.uk\/learning-matters\/2025\/05\/28\/what-i-have-learnt-from-grading-students-on-their-participation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">What I have learnt from grading students on their participation,<\/a> by Paven Basuita (Assistant Professor in Law) reflects on her experience of grading students on participation in Clinical Legal Education. She argues that assessing participation can offer a holistic, inclusive, and continuous evaluation of student learning. However, she also acknowledges the challenges of such an assessment and provides practical recommendations for others looking to assess participation in their own teaching.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Elsewhere in HE<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Office for Students Director of Strategy and Delivery, Josh Fleming, explains our position on artificial intelligence, published a blog post last week on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.officeforstudents.org.uk\/news-blog-and-events\/blog\/embracing-innovation-in-higher-education-our-approach-to-artificial-intelligence\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Embracing innovation in higher education: our approach to artificial intelligence<\/a>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Edinburgh Napier University have launched a new (free) Coursera course: <em>Transforming Higher Education with GenAI: Enhancing Teaching, Learning and Student Engagement.<\/em>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Designed for educators, administrators, and technologists, the course explores how GenAI tools can support teaching, learning, and institutional practices \u2013 while critically engaging with their limitations, biases, and ethical dilemmas.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rather than offering simple solutions, the course focuses on helping you reflect on your own context, experiment safely, and develop tangible resources like lesson plans, policy frameworks, or teaching strategies that you can take back to your work.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Educational Enhancement Office Move!<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Educational Enhancement will be saying goodbye to our home in the library this week, as we are moving to Level 1, Bramber House.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to the June 2025 edition of the Academic Developers round up.
