It will take place on <strong>Friday May 8th, 2026<\/strong>. Please make a note in your diary and keep this date free.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As we plan our event for the new academic year, this is a <strong>call for volunteers<\/strong> to form part of the steering group for the festival.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The time commitment is minimal (3-4 meetings between October and May) to explore possible themes and formats, draft a Call for Participation, receive expressions of interest and curate the programme for the day. Volunteers will also be asked to help disseminate the Call for Participation and registration information in their faculties.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>Who might volunteer\u2026<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We are looking for volunteers (2 per Faculty) who may be:&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>Early career education and scholarship (E&amp;S) colleagues, who are looking for opportunities to advance best practice at the institution\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Research or professional services colleagues with an interest in educational enhancement, pedagogy, learning &amp; teaching practice\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>Previous volunteers\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>School\/Faculty\/Subject Leads in education, student experience, assessment or other roles\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>PS colleagues\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Why volunteer\u2026<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You can:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li>play a role in shaping this year\u2019s festival and deciding on the key themes\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>explore an opportunity to network across the institution, meeting and working with colleagues in key roles\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>help build campus community\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><li>generate concrete examples of leadership and impact that might be helpful for HEA\/SFHEA applications\u00a0\u00a0<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;<strong>To volunteer\u2026<\/strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Please complete <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.office.com\/Pages\/ResponsePage.aspx?id=JOiIGLv-Z060Qy8zJhvH5Iu_bd7ZYvtBkErZor1eLAdUQjIyS0RXSEFYRU1HTlhOWFBIWjJDT0xaUC4u\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">this short form<\/a> stating who you are and why you would like to volunteer. This programme equips you with the principles and skills to conduct robust evaluations, helping you demonstrate impact and drive meaningful improvements. It\u2019s an excellent resource for those undertaking projects to enhance the student experience.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Scholarship at Sussex webpage<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>We are pleased to announce that we now have a <a href=\"https:\/\/staff.sussex.ac.uk\/teaching\/scholarship-of-teaching\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Scholarship at Sussex<\/a> webpage, which provides a broad definition of what constitutes scholarship for our Education and Scholarship (E&amp;S) colleagues and aligns with the promotion criteria. It also includes some nice examples of scholarship from colleagues across the institution.
