Taking place on Friday 8<sup>th<\/sup> May, the Education Festival is a supportive and collaborative event where staff involved in teaching and learning at Sussex can share updates and reflections on work in progress or outcomes from long-standing practices, scholarship or research.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>We encourage all staff involved in involved education at Sussex to consider submitting a proposal.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically, we are looking for presentations on one of the following themes, which we welcome you to interpret broadly:&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol><li>Education for Progressive Futures&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"2\"><li>Impacting Student Experience&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<ol start=\"3\"><li>Transforming Assessment at Sussex&nbsp;<\/li><\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline for submitting a proposal is 17:00 on Friday 27th February.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.sussex.ac.uk\/learning-matters\/2026\/01\/29\/call-for-participation-sussex-education-festival-2026\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Find out more<\/a> and submit your proposal on Learning Matters.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Uncovering Skills report<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Released in October, the new Uncovering Skills report explores how those working across UK higher education support students to uncover, recognise, and articulate the skills they develop throughout their academic and personal journeys. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hepi.ac.uk\/2025\/10\/23\/higher-education-skills-and-employability-looking-beyond-embedding-to-uncovering\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Read the HEPI blog post<\/a> summarising the key findings <a href=\"https:\/\/sussex.box.com\/s\/s1i0td0mmq7iqekx8ctd6vdijz0d8894\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">or read the full report<\/a>.\u00a0 See also the <a href=\"https:\/\/canvas.sussex.ac.uk\/enroll\/B8MM7A\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">UoS Embedding Employability and Entrepreneurship Toolkit.<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>GenAI Training<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The next set of JISC&nbsp; <a href=\"https:\/\/url.uk.m.mimecastprotect.com\/s\/BKGPC9gLlTkO7Ql2sofqHqmUx4?domain=nationalcentreforai.jiscinvolve.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AI literacy curriculum for teaching and learning<\/a> live sessions are running from January to April 2026. Sussex is a JISC member, therefore these are <strong>free<\/strong> to our staff.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All sessions are delivered online via Microsoft Teams, last around one hour, and each session runs twice on different dates.
