You can use Office Mix to create a new presentation or adapt existing presentations that you already have saved.\u00a0<\/span><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">In addition to the existing functions of PowerPoint, Office Mix features include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Slide recording &#8211; add a recording of yourself, using a webcam or audio, to narrate your slides<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Screen annotation &#8211; draw on top of your slides as you record to highlight specific content or to draw diagrams or equations<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><a href=\"https:\/\/store.office.com\/search.aspx?category=Lab%2BApps\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Lab Apps for Office<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> &#8211; choose from a range of apps that can be embedded into a slide, these include interactive quizzes and polls, a web viewer allowing you to insert fully interactive web pages into your slides, as well as apps that include content from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.khanacademy.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Khan Academy<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.geogebra.org\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">GeoGebra<\/span><\/a><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Screen recording &#8211; create a recording of your computer screen and insert it into a slide<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Screenshot &#8211; capture a picture of your computer screen to insert into your slide<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">These \u2018Mixes\u2019 can then be uploaded to the Office Mix website with various privacy settings enabling you to choose who can view your \u2018Mix\u2019. You will then be provided with a link to your presentation which can be sent to your students by email or added to your Study Direct (VLE) site. Your Mixes can also be exported as videos in order to make them available offline. There is a range of \u2018Mixes\u2019 available to view in the <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mix.office.com\/Gallery\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Office Mix Gallery<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> including <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mix.office.com\/gallery\/category\/how-to\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Office Mix tutorials<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.mixforteachers.com\/flipping-your-classroom-with-office-mix.html\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Office Mix is possibly the ideal tool to start flipping your classroom<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the idea of reversing or flipping the traditional way in which class time is used and content is delivered. As a free tool, Office Mix makes use of many skills that you will already have if you are familiar with Microsoft PowerPoint through its easy integration with this commonly used tool. This integration with PowerPoint also allows you to make use of your existing presentations and resources, cutting down on the time spent creating new content. Furthermore, the activity reports available for each \u2018Mix\u2019 allow you to track individuals\u2019 progress and engagement, enabling you to identify possible problems with content, delivery or understanding.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Office Mix is free and can be downloaded from <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/mix.office.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">mix.office.com<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> onto your personal computer if you are running Office 2013 and is rumored to be included in the next version of Microsoft Office.
