Before then, teaching staff will want to prepare their Canvas modules and related materials. To support staff during this process Technology Enhanced Learning have created two new sets of resources and are arranging face-to-face sessions. This post will give an idea of what is available.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Rollover &#8211; copying module content from year to year.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>New, empty Canvas sites for 19-20 were created and made available to staff on 10th June. People teaching new modules can now start building their sites, but for most modules, convenors will want to copy at least some content from the 18-19 version. Most Schools now also have a module template which staff may be using for the first time. If you would like to be included in any workshops for your School please contact <a href=\"mailto:tel@sussex.ac.uk\">tel@sussex.ac.uk<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Accessibility &#8211; an improved learning environment for all<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Accessibility has always been an important consideration when reviewing, updating and creating online materials, but with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/guidance\/accessibility-requirements-for-public-sector-websites-and-apps\">new accessibility requirements for public sector bodies<\/a> coming into effect this is now a legal requirement.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sussex.ac.uk\/tel\/accessibility\">Digital Accessibility web pages<\/a> have been added to the TEL website, offering guidance on how best to provide an improved learning environment for all.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed-youtube wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Digital Accessibility\" width=\"550\" height=\"309\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ErAv9aNYLeA?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The guidance is presented in 4 sections:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul><li><strong>Create<\/strong> &#8211; looks at structuring content, providing alternatives, using colour and descriptive text.
