Hosted over two days (10th July in person and 11th July online), the festival will provide a space for colleagues from across the University to share their experiences, insights and innovation in teaching, learning and assessment.\u00a0 We\u2019re excited to celebrate and reflect on all the amazing work that goes into teaching here. Please submit your ideas by Friday 19<sup>th<\/sup> April.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>2<sup>nd<\/sup> Teaching and Learning with AI CoP on Monday 18<sup>th<\/sup> March, 14:00-15:30 in the Library Open Learning Space.<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The theme of the meeting is Talking with students about AI. <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.sussex.ac.uk\/tel\/2024\/02\/29\/artificial-intelligence-community-of-practice-ii-talking-with-students-about-ai\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Our recent EE blog post outlines the plan for the session<\/a>, recent insights from the sector in relation to the topic and information on how join the session.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Embedding employability:<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2024 Advance HE case study compendium is now available to members on <a href=\"https:\/\/advance-he.ac.uk\/knowledge-hub\/lighting-labyrinth-enhancing-student-success-through-3es\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">their website<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/sussex.box.com\/s\/hx1ih9uf6at8h7nzu26rr9xaibm1wjyq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">also here in box<\/a> (along with those from 2022 and 2023). There are case studies from all disciplines and the themes this year are: Authentic assessment; Enterprise education; Multi\/interdisciplinary; Sustainability; Work integrated learning. Also, see the Sussex <a href=\"https:\/\/staff.sussex.ac.uk\/teaching\/enhancement\/support\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Embedding Employabily Toolkit<\/a> (linked to from the EE Support &amp; Guidance page) which provides disciplinary focused case studies and skills guides and more.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Education and Innovation Fund<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The deadline to apply for the next round of the Education and Innovation Fund is Monday 15 April.\u00a0\u00a0 For further information, and a list of previous winners please see the <a href=\"https:\/\/staff.sussex.ac.uk\/teaching\/fund\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">webpage<\/a>\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>Workshops and new web guidance:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/staff.sussex.ac.uk\/teaching\/enhancement\/support\/artificial-intelligence\/academic-misconduct\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AI and Academic Integrity webpage<\/a>: Updated with new recommended AI use statements for modules and assessment briefs. <strong>We recommend all staff review and action<\/strong> to ensure clear and consistent communication relating to the permissible use of AI for generating materials and content for assessments (including when not permitted).&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/staff.sussex.ac.uk\/teaching\/enhancement\/support\/artificial-intelligence\/ai-tools\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">AI tools webpage:<\/a> A new page Find out about the types of generative AI tools available and how to access them&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/uofsussex.padlet.org\/tel34\/uos-ai-community-of-practice-teaching-with-ai-c1z21o84ygi5tde3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Teaching &amp; Learning with AI collaborative padlet<\/a> has been re-designed. It is continually updated with links to recent news and resources.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><strong>New to Learning Matters:<\/strong>\u00a0<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This month, we have published two new blogs and two news case studies on<em> Learning Matters<\/em>. In our new blogs, Dr Martin Brown, Lecturer in Education, discusses the benefits of taking an embedded approach to teaching academic writing skills for international postgraduate students and Katerina Psarikidou, Lecturer in Sustainable Development, and Alejandro Luna, Lecturer in Sustainability, Innovation and Energy Policy, explore how engagement is key for inclusive curriculum (re)design.
