A new start…

Gosh, it has been a while since we updated this blog, hasn’t it? Over a year now!

You will (hopefully) be pleased to know that we are re-launching  the blog  as the one for the University of Sussex’s Special Collections and Mass Observation Archive. This is because the University of Sussex Collection cataloguing project has now come to a successful conclusion. The Project Officer, Adam Harwood, has moved on to an exciting role initiating the technical systems at The Keep. The Keep is a new purpose built repository for the archives and collections from the University of Sussex (including Special Collections and the Mass Observation Archive), East Sussex County Record Office and Royal Pavilion and Museums, Brighton & Hove. The Keep, which opens to the public on 19th November 2013, will provide state of the art storage facilities alongside spaces for research and teaching using the collections. The building is situated a short walk away from the University of Sussex Campus (our old home).

From now on, this blog will showcase the archives, collections, activities of the Special Collections and Mass Observation Archive team. We are excited to share them with you, particularly as The Keep will provide us with more opportunities to work on projects,  developing partnerships, catalogue material, and engage more people with our collections.

Stand by for updates!
