It’s very easy to become completely focused on your research, to the detriment of your physical and emotional wellbeing. Doctoral studies involve highs and lows, with many researchers experiencing mental health problems at some point. If everything does become too much for you, please do seek help immediately. There’s lots of support available and your first point of contact is the Student Life Centre. You could also explore the Buddy Scheme to help build yourself a support network, and the Meeting House for a friendly ear.
