Following last year’s successful event for staff and students, the University will be observing World AIDS Day on Monday 1 December with a short ceremony in library square at 4pm.
Simon Fanshawe, the Chair of Council, will be switching the lights on the Christmas tree in library square, which will be decorated by students earlier in the day with red ribbons – the traditional symbols for the day.
There will be brief speeches on AIDS/HIV issues from UNISEX and USSU.
The ceremony will include songs from members of the University choir and afterwards mulled wine and soft drinks will be served in the Meeting House Quiet Room.
If you would like to attend please get clearance from your Line Manager.
