Adam and Simon’s 100k cometh soon

Hey folks,
Simon and myself are preparing ourselves for the big one next weekend!
To remind you all, we are going to be part of the TrailTrekker event walking a 100K route of the Yorkshire Dales. A route that must be completed within 30 hours or else! We’ve spent the last couple of months walking practically every weekend over the downs for at least 4 hours a pop. A couple of weeks ago we walked 31 miles from Eastbourne to Ditchling which took us 13hrs and we were shattered – so God help us for the real thing! We felt like this was an accomplishent in itself, and my euphoria on completing it brought a tear to my eye and an overwhelming desire to hug Mr Topping and sob into his shoulder! Thankfully I was able to restrain myself and avoid an embarrassing situation for all concerned!
After this mammoth walk, we – Speckled Jim (our team name in honour of that plump and plucky First World War pigeon, lovingly raised by General Sir Anthony Cecil Hogmanay Melchett) – feel we are ready for the big one.
