Study Skills for Business and Management is a guide packed with tips and tools to help any business student get the most out of their degree. For first years it is a great introduction to university work and the different skills that are needed. The book also has a lot to offer second and final year students as you can dip in and out of sections to brush up on certain skills and identify common mistakes that you may be making.
The book is written in an easy to read style, with plenty of supporting diagrams, tables and real life examples from the authors, as well as those of current business students. Each chapter is well structured, which means that it is easy to review certain aspects, such as for presentations, when that type of assignment is given. The authors also relate each chapter to working life, which helps to remind students that the tools, for example in essay writing or mind mapping, can be carried forward into work.
For more experienced students some points may seem like common knowledge, but overall it has much to offer. I wish that I had discovered this book earlier on in my degree, but I will be putting what I have learnt into practice for my final year.
